Your heat press settings
Settings are a starting point for suitable garments. Heat presses and fabrics vary, so test before production and follow the garment manufacturer's heat limits.
How to apply your transfers
Prepare your garment
Lay the garment flat on the press. Pre-press briefly to remove moisture and creases.
Position the transfer
Place the DTF transfer on the garment with the printed design facing the fabric and the film facing up.
Press at 150°C
Apply firm, even pressure for 10–12 seconds. Keep the garment and transfer completely flat.
Hot peel
Peel the carrier film away smoothly while it is still hot. Do not wait for it to cool.
Cover & re-press
Cover the design with a suitable protective sheet and press again for 10–12 seconds using firm pressure.
Cool & check
Let the garment cool, then check the edges and finish before wearing, packing or washing.
Garment care
Proper garment care helps keep your print looking its best. Follow these simple instructions after application.
Common questions
Should I peel hot or cold?
Hot. PHAT Prints DTF transfers use hot-peel film, so remove the carrier while it is still hot.
Do I need to press the design twice?
Yes. After peeling, cover the print with a suitable protective sheet and re-press for 10–12 seconds.
Why isn't my design sticking properly?
Check the platen's actual temperature, pressure and contact across the design. Moisture, fabric texture and uneven pressure can affect adhesion. Test on a spare garment first.
Before you start
- Check your garment can withstand 150°C.
- Use a heat press for consistent pressure.
- Keep seams, zips and buttons off the pressing area.
- Test an unfamiliar fabric before a full run.
- Allow the final print to cool before handling.
